LAURINBURG — Carol "Jeanette" Dail Shelton, age 69 of Laurinburg went home to be with her Lord on Dec. 10, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. J.W. Williams. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and a private interment will be at a later date.

Jeanette was the daughter of the late Ernest H. and Ruby McKenzie Dail born on Feb. 28, 1946. She retired after many years of service as a telephone operator with Bellsouth. She was a member of the Peele's Chapel Wesleyan Church. She loved to travel, especially to the beach. She enjoyed NASCAR and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt.

She also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. Jeanette loved her family and truly cherished spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son David Walters, brother Charles H. Dail, and daughter-in-law Carol Shelton.

She is survived by her children Kim Walters Brayboy and companion John McCormick of the home, Lee Shelton and companion Susan Coble of Wagram, Bobby Shelton and wife April of Hamlet, and Billy Shelton and wife Jeri of Statesville, grandchildren Tonya Brayboy and companion Junior Locklear, Chris Brayboy, Jeremy Shelton, Lesley Shelton, Christina Shelton, Monica Shelton, Meghan Thompson, Cody Conklin, Hayden Myers, Kayla Myers, and Cassie Eck, great-grandchildren Brianna Brayboy and companion Christopher Case and Trey Jones. She is also survived by her sisters Judy Dybdal of Florida and Brenda Blakley and husband Lee of Alabama, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
