FLORENCE, S.C. — Claudia Cole Cooke, 94, formerly of Hamlet, died on Aug. 25, 2015, at McLeod Hospice House.

She was born in Florence County on Dec. 19, 1920, daughter of Claude Cole and Isadora Kirby Cole. She was the youngest of 12 children.

Mrs. Cooke was a charter member of Fellowship United Methodist Church in Hamlet. She served as financial secretary for years, served on the bereavement committee, and sang in the church choir until 1998.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Richmond Memorial Park Mausoleum in Rockingham. The Rev. Billy Olsen and the Rev. David Woolsey will be officiating.

Friends may visit afterward at the fellowship hall at Fellowship United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. Cooke

Survivors include her son Bill Cooke and wife Jan of Wagram, grandchildren Greg Cooke of Lexington and Christine Ivey and husband Matt of Hope Mills, three great-grandchildren: Reagan Cooke and Sophia and Caroline Ivey, and sister-in-law Thelma Floyd of Florence.
