WAGRAM — David James Nolen Sr., age 67, of Wagram, passed away Oct. 20, 2014.

He was a son of the late James R. and Lorene Paxton Nolen, born Jan. 18, 1947. Before his illness, he worked as a maintenance supervisor with the Scotland County School System. He enjoyed hunting especially for deer, bear and raccoon. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. David was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather that will truly be missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David J. Nolen Jr., a grandchild, Casey Reinhardt and brothers, Steven Nolen and Barry Nolen.

David is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sherry Reeves Nolen of the home; his daughters, Saundra Barnes of Stanley, Brenda Nolen of Mt. Holly, Brandi Small of Laurinburg, Rachael Lowery of Belmont, and a special granddaughter he raised, Jessica Nolen of Mt. Holly; two sisters, Shirley Lutz of Dallas and Janet Ward of Maiden; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with the family receiving friends immediately following the service.

The family requests that memorial donations be given in his memory to Hospice of Scotland County, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
