LAUREL HILL — Dorothy Norton Woodard, age 80 of Laurel Hill passed away Nov. 28, 2014 at Morrison Manor.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Revs. J.W. Williams and Ricky Jacobs. Burial will follow in the Woodard Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Woodard was born Nov. 24, 1934 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Walker and Alice Phillips Norton. She was the devoted wife to the late Earl Monroe Woodard. She retired from Charles Craft after 20 years of service and then worked with the Scotland County Recycling Center. She served as a member of Peele's Chapel Wesleyan Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing and working in her flowers. Dorothy was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother that will truly be missed.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Faye Simon; a brother, Thurman Norton; sister, Janice Cooper and great grandchild, Makayla Woodard.

Surviving are her four sons, Michael E. Woodard and wife Teresa, Jerry A. Woodard, Gregory H. Woodard all of Laurel Hill, Kenneth Ray Woodard of Pageland, South Carolina; son-in-law, Donnell Simon of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Bobby Norton and wife Judy of Charlotte and sister, Joyce Swaner; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; her nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

The family request that memorial donations be made in her memory to Hospice of Scotland County, P. O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
