LAURINBURG — Franklin Delano Evans, 71, of Laurinburg passed away on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at Scottish Pines Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

Franklin was born April 14, 1945 in Scotland County, son of the late Charlie Robert Evans, Sr., and Willie Leatha Berry Evans.

He was a Vietnam Veteran that proudly served with the United States Army. He retired from Carolina Crating after many years of service. Before his illness, Franklin enjoyed remodeling houses, riding and camping at the beach. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Robert Evans, Jr., and Eugene Evans; sisters, Edna Tew and Loretta Hatcher. Franklin is survived by his son, Franklin "Boss: Evans, Jr., of Laurinburg; daughters, Crystal "Mousey" Evans and Sandy Fields of Laurinburg; a sister, Edith Evans of Laurinburg; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his special devoted friend, Tabitha Smiling of Maxton.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday, Oct. 25 beginning at 1 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Laurinburg Memorial Park.
