GREENSBORO — Mr. Gene Sanford Warwick, 71, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

Born October 1, 1945 in Marlboro County, SC, he was a son of late Joe and Catherine Murray Warwick. He was a graduate of Wagram High School, class of 1964, and attended Alamance Technical. He loved traveling, flying and antique trucks.

Gene is survived by his wife, Ruth Lucas Warwick of the home; son, Gene S. Warwick, Jr. (Sonia) of Colfax; daughter, Karen Warwick Makowski (Stan) of Greensboro; brother, Joe Warwick,Jr. (Jeanne) of Cooleemee; sister, Cackey Riggin of Laurinburg; aunt, Jeanne Nadeau of High Point; grandchildren, Della Warwick, Gabriel Warwick and Caleb Makowski; and niece, Janie Cranford (Brent).

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 at Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross (hurricane relief), PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839.
