LAURINBURG — Geneva Alford Williams, 96, of Laurinburg passed away to her Heavenly home on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017.

Geneva was a daughter of the late Boyd and JoAnna Cannon Alford born July 13, 1921 in McColl, S.C. She was a devoted and loving wife to the late Willie Williams, a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister who truly loved sharing time with her family.

She retired after 35 years of service from Richmond Converters. She was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy where she served as a Sunday school teacher, church clerk and loved singing in the choir. She formerly served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Scotland Memorial Hospital. Many of her favorite memories were baking cakes and pies for her family and working in the flower gardens.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, James H. Mason and son-in-law, Dick Dickinson.

She leaves behind her children, son, Mitchell Williams and wife Terry of Laurinburg; daughters, Mary Catherine Mason and husband Bill of Haysville, Betty Jean Dickinson of Woodruff, S.C.; her sister, Margaret Byrd of Laurel Hill; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel and will be officiated by the Rev. Carl Beasley and the Rev. Jim Dickerson. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
