LAURINBURG — James "Bud" Everett Walters, 73, passed away on April 23, 2016, at Morrison Manor after a courageous battle with cancer.

Though he had retired from Edwards Wood Products after many years of dedicated service as a full-time truck driver, he enjoyed driving locally, part-time, for Carolina Crating until recently. Bud also took pleasure in fishing, NASCAR and playing his guitar. His greatest times were those spent with family and friends.

Bud was also preceded in death by his infant son David Walters and his siblings Marvin Walters, Dewey Walters, Carlisle Walters and Betty Jo Caulder.

Surviving are his sons Jim Walters (Lynn), Gary Walters (Christy), and Philip Walters of Laurinburg, daughter Kim Brayboy of Laurinburg, six grandchildren: Jordan Walters, Kelsey Walters, Dylan Walters, Chris Walters, Tonya Brayboy and Chris Brayboy, great-grandchildren Caleb Walters, Mason Walters, and Brianna Brayboy, and a host of family and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Hillside Memorial Park officiated by Pastor Horace E. Warwick. The family will receive friends prior to the service at graveside beginning at 1 p.m.
