SHALLOTTE — James Patrick "Pat" Burroughs, Jr., 79, passed away at his home on July 9, 2014.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Hillside Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Rick Hodges.

Patrick was born on May 12, 1935 as one of three sons to the late James Patrick Burroughs Sr. and Eliza English Burroughs and was the loving husband of the late Betty Burroughs. He was a Korean War veteran who proudly served with the United States Air Force. He was a retired truck driver and a former member of the Masonic Lodge. Pat loved playing and watching the game of golf. He was a loving brother and uncle who will truly be missed.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his son and a brother, Lonnie Burroughs.

Pat is survived by his brother Max Burroughs, Sr. and wife Betty of Laurinburg, his nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
