MAXTON — James Wilbur "Jimmy" Grubbs, Jr., 67, passed away on July 9, 2015 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Hillside Cemetery.

Jimmy was born on April 7, 1948 in Robeson County the son of the late James W. "Pete" Grubbs and Nellie Carmichael Grubbs. Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was a mechanic by trade and enjoyed rebuilding classic old cars, hanging out at the drag racing track and listening to beach music and fishing. Jimmy loved taking care of his animals especially the dogs.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Victor L. Grubbs

He is survived by his siblings Joy G. Blalock (Ronnie), G.G. McArthur (Randy) and Kenneth "Kenny" Grubbs all of Laurinburg and nieces and nephews Bonnie Blalock, Melody Norton, Codi McArthur, and C.J. McArthur.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 6-7 p.m.
