MAXTON — Marion "Maitland" Walters McNeill, age 82 of Maxton passed away at her home on Nov. 6, 2014.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Centre Presbyterian Church and burial followed in the Church Cemetery. Pastor Howard Whitehurst and Pastor Charles Wentz officiated the services.

Maitland was born Jan. 2, 1932 in Robeson County, daughter of the late Marley and Trevia Barnes Walters. She was a devoted homemaker and also worked in retail. She served as a longtime faithful member of the Centre Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking cakes for everyone. Maitland was a loving wife, sister and friend that will truly be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Percy Walters, Claude "Pete" Walters, Robert M. Walters, William Earl Walters and Robert Lewis Walters.

She is survived by her husband, Kloman Randolph "Randy" McNeill of the home; adopted daughter, Jeanette Burnet and husband Doug of Richmond, Virginia; brothers, Harold Walters of Rowland, B.J. Walters of Bladenboro, Tommy Walters of Laurel Hill; her sister, Ruby Graham of Rowland and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Saturday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
