LAUREL HILL — Mary Ann Phillips Brown, 76, passed away at her home on Sept. 5, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Peele's Chapel Wesleyan Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. J.W. Williams. Burial will follow in Mary Love Cemetery.

Mary was born on Oct. 25, 1938, daughter of the late Merlin and Ethel Quick Phillips. She was the devoted wife to the late George W. Brown, Jr. She worked in textiles, retiring from JP Stevens, Inc., after many years of service. She attended Peele's Chapel Wesleyan Church and enjoyed needle work, yard work and listening to gospel music.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Rose Phillips, brothers Francis "Mack" Phillips and L.T. Phillips and sister Katie Phillips Grooms.

Mary is survived by her daughter Patricia McIntyre of Laurel Hill, son George Brown and wife Jennifer of Laurel Hill, brother Charles Phillips of Dunn, grandchildren Alice Ann Porath and John Alexander McIntyre, great-grandchildren Donnavon Cole Williams, Kaylan Lee Williams, and Nathon Eugene Williams, special niece Rosa Oxendine of Laurinburg, and great nephews George Logan Brown and Noah Player.
