Mary Frances Jacobs Grooms, 77, of Laurel Hill departed this life on Sept. 14, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Sept. 17, 2013 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. James Croke and Brother Frank Gorden. Burial will follow the service in Hillside Memorial Park.

Mary Frances was born on Aug. 16, 1936 in Marlboro County, S.C., a daughter to the late Arch and Alice Jacobs. She was the loving wife to the late Henry Thomas Grooms. She was a devoted homemaker and worked in textiles as a seamstress retiring after many years of service. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord and attended the Huckabee Grove Emanuel Holiness Church. Before her illness, she enjoyed sewing and gardening. Mrs. Grooms was a devoted mother and grandmother who will truly be missed.

She was also preceded in death by her son Brian Grooms, brothers Willis Jacobs, Clifton Jacobs, and James "Buster" Jacobs, and sister Letha Wallace.

Mrs. Grooms is survived by her children Linda Campbell and husband Wayne of Laurel Hill, Teresa Gorden and husband Frank of Laurinburg, and Tim Grooms and wife Michelle of Maxton, brother Archie Jacobs of Laurel Hill, 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
