LAURINBURG — Mary Louise Nichols, 93, formerly of Rockingham died on Jan. 24, 2014, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Richmond Memorial Park officiated by the Rev. C. F. McDowell, III.
She is survived by her brother Charlie (Faye) Nichols of Laurinburg, her sister O'Nell Young of Hartsville, S.C., and her sister-in-law Ila Nichols of Lincolnton. She was preceded in death by her brother Ralph Nichols and nephews Larry Nichols and Joseph Nichols.
Born on April 10, 1920 in Union County, she was a daughter of the late William Oscar Nichols, Jr. and Janie Jolly Nichols. She attended Coker College. She retired after many years as the assistant clerk of Superior Court in Richmond County.
Prior to moving to Laurinburg in 2005, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockingham, and later attended the First Baptist Church in Laurinburg. She was a special aunt to eight nephews and a niece who was her special companion and caregiver for eight years.
