LAURINBURG — Mildred Locklear, 65, of Laurinburg passed away at her home on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016.

Mildred was born September 30, 1951 in Robeson County, daughter of the late George and Gertrude Brayboy Coolbough and she was lovingly raised by the late Dock and Mary Lee Oxendine. She retired from Abbott Laboratories after many years of service. She loved the Lord and served as a faithful, active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She loved reading her Bible and participating with all church activities. She also enjoyed antiques, shopping, singing, cooking for her family, vacations in the mountains, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, William Gary Oxendine, N.L. Oxendine and Earl Hunt.

Mildred is survived by her husband of 44 years, Lloyd "Ray" Locklear of their home in Laurinburg; her son, Travis Ray Locklear (Paige) and daughter, Bettina Lee Locklear of Laurinburg; brothers, E. Daniel Oxendine of Rowland, John Phillips Oxendine of Bladenboro, Wilton Hunt of Rowland, Willard Jones of Coventry, CT, Carlie Hunt of Mansfield, CT, George Coolbough, Jr., of Moosup, CT; a sister, Sharon Quaglia of Bolton, CT; grandchildren, Dalton Ray Locklear, Cameron Jace Locklear, Colton Mack Locklear, Jamicin Paige Locklear and a host of family and special friends.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 th at Richard Boles Funeral Service. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with burial following in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Earl Henderson will officiate the services.
