LAURINBURG — Pearline Bass Wilkins, age 72 of Laurinburg passed away Dec. 2, 2014.

She was born March 23, 1942 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Roosevelt and Annie Mae Kelly Bass. She retired from Waverly Mills after many years of service. She attended the Eastside Emmanuel Holiness Church, enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family, especially with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her son James Bass and siblings, Jessie Thomas Bass, Bertha Lee Smith and Ottie Belle Taylor.

Pearline is survived by her husband, Donald Dial of the home; daughters, Lisa Wilkins of the home and Janie Hewett of Laurinburg; step son, Duncan Dial of Rowland, step daughter, Melinda Dial of Laurel Hill; brothers, Rochester Bass of Hamlet, C.W. Bass of White House, Tennessee; sisters, Lula Mae Locklear of Dillon, South Carolina, Everline Huggins of Springfield, Tennessee, Jeanette Locklear and husband Curtis of Laurinburg; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with a private interment at a later date. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
