FAYETTEVILLE — Raymond Thomas Blythe Sr., age 91 of Fayetteville, formerly of Laurel Hill passed away on Jan. 14, 2015 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Fayetteville.

Mr. Blythe was the son of the late Thomas and Mabelle Blythe, born May 26, 1923 in Paris, France. He was the loving and devoted husband to the late Evelyn Harris Blythe. He was a World War II veteran that proudly served with the United States Army Air Corps. He worked in sales, retiring after many years. He served in the Masonic Lodge for more than 60 years with a dual membership in Laurinburg and Seymour, Connecticut. He was a member of the Church in the Pines where he formerly served as a Deacon. Ray had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed traveling in his RV, gardening and crafting.

He is survived by his children, a son, Raymond "Ray" Blythe Jr., and wife Ellen of Elkhart, Indiana; daughter Lynn Huff and husband Howard of Concord; four grandchildren, Jessica Ranavaya, Billy Lee, Benjamin Huff, Kayla Huff and a great grandson, Dakota Lee.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at the Church in the Pines, officiated by the Rev. Gene Miller. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
