MAXTON — Sarah Peterson Lytch, age 87 of Maxton passed away to her Heavenly Home on Feb. 24, 2015.

Sarah was a daughter of the late Joseph Leslie Peterson and Martha Elizabeth Evans Peterson born June 2, 1927 in Sampson County. During World War II, she worked for the Civil Service in the Fort Bragg Telegraph Office. She was a devoted homemaker and the owner of Lytch Family Farms. She was an active longtime member of the Midway Presbyterian Church serving in all areas where needed including the Clerk of Session. She dedicated her life to the love and care of her family and she especially enjoyed cooking and serving the family meals. She loved being on her farm, spending time with her family, and watching the hummingbirds.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Vidrene Lytch; sisters, Joyce Shipp, Nadell Peterson, Ruby Todd, Ruth Merritt and a brother, George Peterson.

Surviving are her children, sons, Madison Lytch and wife Dina of Maxton, Daniel L. Lytch of Harrell; her daughters, Sarah Beth Lytch of Fayetteville, Janet L. Morgan and husband Lee of Laurinburg; a brother, John H. Peterson of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Helen Register and husband H.J. of Turkey; her grandchildren, Vicki Melton and husband David, Daniel Lytch and wife Rachael, Adam Lytch and fiancé Jennifer, Lewis Lytch and wife Liz, Margaret Dickerson and husband Ben, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the Midway Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow the service in the Church Cemetery. Dr. Rodger Decker will be officiating the service.

Memorial donations are requested to be given in her memory to the Midway Presbyterian Church, 9115 NC Hwy 130 West, Maxton, NC 28364 or Hospice of Scotland County, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
