LAURINBURG — Sarah Sessoms White Peters, 87, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. Richard Tyson and the Rev. Woody Byrd. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Sarah was a daughter of the late Lewis and Dora Bullard Sessoms born July 14, 1928. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse's aide, working at both the Edwin Morgan Center and Scotland Memorial Hospital before her retirement.

She served as a faithful member of the East Laurinburg Baptist Church and also attended Hillside Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, canning and singing gospel music. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will truly be missed.

She was preceded in by her parents, husbands, brothers George Sessoms, Albert Sessoms, Melvin "Rock" Sessoms, and Craymond Sessoms, and sisters Janie Mancil and Mildred Wilson.

She is survived by her only child Beverly Huggins Troublefield and husband the Rev. Frank "Spike" Troublefield, brother Bobby Sessoms, and sister-in-law Lou Sessoms all of Laurinburg, four grandchildren: Scotty Stalsby, Diane Wheeler, Randy Stalsby, and Nick Troublefield, 11 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including special niece Linda Dunn, her wonderful neighbor Larry Lowery, and the one she called her special son, the Rev. Richard Tyson.

Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

In her memory, the family requests that memorial donations be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
