ROCKINGHAM — Steve Ray Williams, 61, went home to be with his Lord on April 4, 2016.

Steve was born on Sept. 14, 1954 in Moore County, son to the late John "Sam" and Donnie Mae Williams. He graduated with the class of 1972 from Ellerbe High School.

He loved farming and being the owner and manager of Scotland Feed and Garden Center of Laurinburg since 1986. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Ellerbe where he served as a deacon and adult Sunday School teacher. He also enjoyed serving as a member of Gideon International.

Steve enjoyed meeting and talking with people at work, church and anywhere he thought he had something to share. He especially loved sharing the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a wonderful husband, brother, uncle, friend and mentor who will truly be missed by all.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years Wanda Gallimore Williams of their home in Rockingham, his brother Johnny Williams of Ellerbe, sister Shelby McIntyre (Eugene) of Ellerbe, sister-in-law Martha G. Parsons (Don) of Florence, South Carolina, brothers-in-law Lewis Gallimore (Judy) of Fayetteville and Donald Gallimore (Cheryl) of Gaffney, South Carolina, and his many nieces, nephews and special friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on April 17 at the First Baptist Church of Ellerbe officiated by Dr. James Brown. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. A private interment will be at a later date in Norman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given in Steve's memory to the First Baptist Church General Fund, P.O. Box 8, Ellerbe, NC 28338; Gideons International, P.O.
