MAXTON — Suzanne Kersey Blackwell, age 49 of Maxton passed away on Sept. 16, 2014.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Cherokee Chapel Holiness Methodist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Services will be officiated by Rev. Jimmy Locklear.

Suzanne was born in Scotland County on Dec. 30, 1964, daughter of Polly Kersey and Percy Tew. She was lovingly raised by the late Sanford and Martha Peele Kersey. She worked in the restaurant business, formerly with Mack's Breakfast in Laurinburg. She was an avid fan of the UNC Tarheels, Pittsburgh Steelers and Scotland High School Football teams. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles but cherished her time with family and friends.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Patsy Beasley.

Suzanne is survived by a son, Jeremy Taylor of Binghamton, NY; her daughters, Bridget Cummings and husband Pete of Maxton and Elizabeth Blackwell and Harley Taylor both of Laurinburg; her mother, Polly Kersey Grissom of Laurinburg and father, Percy Tew of Laurinburg; brothers, Michael Kersey and wife Marlena and Mitchell Davis both of Laurel Hill, Wayne Driggers, Rock Tew and wife Lisa both of Laurinburg and Billy Tew and wife Linda of Hamlet; her sister, Peggy Troxell and husband David of Laurinburg and 10 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
