LAURINBURG — SMSGT Thomas Eddie Dunsford, USAF (Retired) of passed away at the age of 79 on May 12, 2015.

A Christian Mass Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the St. Mary Catholic Church officiated by the Rev. Father JaVan Saxon. A Christian Burial service will follow with military honors in Hillside Memorial Park.

Thomas was a son of the late Thomas J. Dunsford and Grace Lewis Dunsford born May 11, 1936 in Chesterfield, South Carolina. He proudly served and made a career in the United States Air Force, retiring after more than 27 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War and awarded many service medals for his dedication and bravery.

After retirement, he then worked with the Campbell Soup Company for 12 years. He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, reading, walking and studying CNBC. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who truly loved his time with family.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Lou Hogan Dunsford of their home in Laurinburg, son James M. Dunsford and special friend Kathleen Lovett of Laurinburg, daughter Alice Marie Dunsford of Tampa, Florida, brother Robert Dunsford and wife Shirley of Bennettsville, South Carolina and grandson Andrew Thomas Dunsford.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
