GIBSON — Thomas O'Neal English, Sr., 61 of Gibson passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Morrison Manor.

Thomas was born on April 11, 1956 in Scotland County, son of Peggy O'Neal Scott English and the late Eli Thomas English, Jr. He was a dedicated employee with the Town of Gibson.

He formerly worked for Mohawk Carpet, as well as Billy Ray Norris Storage Buildings. He was a member of Gibson Pentecostal Holiness Church and thoroughly enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and landscaping. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to gospel music.

Thomas is survived by his mother, Peggy O'Neal Scott English of the home; son, Thomas English Jr. (Brooke Roller) of Rockingham; a brother, Timothy D. English of Gibson; sisters, Sharon Smith (Richard), Sheila Miller (Jeff) all of Gibson, Minnie Lee of Greenville, S.C. and Regina Adams (Bobby) of Bennettsville, S.C.; his grandchildren, Jaiden English and Jace English; his many nieces, nephews and a host of many family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday June 7 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Joel Quick. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

Memorial donations are requested to be given to the Scotland Regional Hospice, PO Box 1033 Laurinburg, NC 28353.
