ROCKINGHAM — Walter Douglas "Doug" Ikner, 44, formerly of Laurinburg, passed away on April 10, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Richard Boles Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Sammy Frye. Burial will follow the service in Hillside Memorial Park.

Doug was born on Aug. 31, 1969, loving son of the late Walter and Betty Ikner. He was a United States Army veteran and a former law enforcement officer, serving in both Scotland County and Richmond County. He also worked with textiles for Burlington Industries. He attended Stewartsville Baptist Church, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and was an avid sports fan, especially of Clemson football and NASCAR.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Peggy Jane Ikner Scott.

Doug is survived by his daughter Betty "Danielle" Ikner of Whispering Pines, his brothers Kenneth Ikner, Chaddwick Lewis, and Walter Ikner, Jr., sisters Betty Ann Hodges, Betty Jean ReVille, and Emma Dale Ikner Hodges, and a host of family and friends.
