LAURINBURG — Zettie Locklear Baxley, 86, of Laurinburg passed away to her Heavenly home on Sept. 8, 2016.

Zettie was born February 27, 1930 in Robeson County, daughter of the late Robert and Carrie Goins Locklear. She was the loving and devoted wife to the late Rev. R.F. Baxley. She was a devoted homemaker and retired textile worker from JP Stevens, Inc.

She faithfully attended the McColl Pentecostal First Baptized Holiness Church. She loved reading her Bible, praying, visiting and singing with others at the nursing home. Zettie was a devoted mother and grandmother that loved the Lord and her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Baxley Brown and siblings, Lawrence Locklear, James Locklear, Robert Lee Locklear, Evelyn Coble, Jesse Lee Williamson, Josephine Leviner and a grandson, Quincy Brown.

Zettie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, sons, Terry Baxley of the home, Danny Baxley of Gibson; daughters, Cheryl Baxley of the home and Patty Williams of Laurinburg; brothers, Willard Locklear of Gibson, Henry Locklear of Hamlet; sisters, Lizzie Jacobs of Gibson, Lena Mae Clark of Asheboro, Iona Faulk of Hickory; nine grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11 at Richard Boles Funeral Service. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12 at the McColl Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church with burial following in Hillside Cemetery.
