REUTER, Harriette Basore
Harriette Basore Reuter died peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 13, 2013, ten days before her 99th birthday. A resident of Oakmont in Santa Rosa, CA since 1990, she is survived by her sister Josephine, three children, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many
loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Harriette grew up in Berryville, Arkansas and graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Nursing in Memphis in 1935. She enlisted in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps during World War II and was stationed in the Territory of Alaska, where she met and married Captain Howard Reuter in 1943. After the war they raised their children first in San Diego and later in Pasadena, CA. Howard died in 1997. A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Harriette at her parish in Santa Rosa on Saturday, December 21, and she will be buried next to her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City on Friday, December 27 at noon after a service in the small chapel at the cemetery. The family would welcome memorial donations to any food bank in lieu of flowers.
