To all the Kearns family....my dad just got his latest Grapevine in the mail and read that his old friend Bill passed away.. your family was always so very kind to our family and my dad, James (Jim) Rogers, always considered Bill one of his dearest friends.. he called to tell me the news with such saddness in his voice I had to let you know how much your dad and mom meant to my parents.. I remember the parties we had when we were kids and the fun..your dad was always the life of the party and boy could he dance...he was a kind and decent man and Kevin you are right we have lost one of the "Greatest Generation"... our dads worked two jobs and we never thought that was not the way it was for everyone...Love and prayers to all of the family from Jim Rogers, LaVerne Vassallo and Ginny Arbuckle... God smiled upon us with your dad's friendship...
(my mom passed away 4yrs ago at age 100, she lied about her age for many years..dad is now almost 89)

Mike,Pat, Colleen,John,Kevin and Karen:
We just heard about your Dad from Nicole, apparently she is in contact with one of you through "facebook."
We will pray for you and Mary that in this phase of your life you have peace and understanding. We know he is in a better place. He'll look down and pray for you also. His life now is a "flash," while yours are made of memnories.
And memories of the few times I saw your Dad he was always jolly.
Pat, Collen, John, and Kevin...you were an intricate part of our lives as our children grew up at St. Bridgets.
Lynn and I look back on how blessed we have been with you sharing your lives with us.
"God hold you in the palm of his hand..."
Prayerfully,
xavier & Lynn

We lost another member of the "Greatest Generation", my dad Bill Kearns. At 17 years old he left high school joined the Marines and fought 3 years in the Pacific. He then raised 7 kids working 2 jobs LAFD, and pounding nails on his day off. Looking back we didn't have much but I thought we were rich.

Captain, I have to thank you for giving me the gift of golf. You were the first person who got me interested In the game of golf. As frustrating as the game could be, I love every second of it. It's something that I can enjoy with my husband and he loves it just at much as I do. From the moment I met you had always made me feel welcomed in your home and I loved how you would make me laugh . I will always cherish the memory of you dancing with me to the song Rock Lobster at my wedding. You sure could dance. You will be missed and I so grateful that my children got to know their Big Grandpa....love you forever and we will dance again some day
