MARY ANN (ELSENBAUMER,
ZELENAY), THAYER
Passed away January 25, 2013, at the age of 56, at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, CA.
Mary Ann was born Sept. 24, 1956 in Corona, CA to Theodore and Catherine Elsenbaumer. She leaves behind her husband, Mark Thayer, of Ventura; her sons, Larry Tom Zelenay, of Simi Valley, and Randy Zelenay of Chatsworth; mother, Catherine; and siblings, Margaret Hoff and William Elsenbaumer, of Ventura, Michael Elsenbaumer, resident of Anchorage, AK, and Tom Elsenbaumer, of Sierra Vista, AZ.
Mary Ann grew up in Oceanside, Highland Park and Burbank, CA, where she graduated from high school in 1975. She raised her sons with her first husband, Larry Zelenay in Saugus, CA, then relocated to Ventura in 2002 where she loved working as a medical assistant, fulfilled by caring for others. She is remembered fondly as a truly compassionate, knowledgeable worker and friend.
We also remember Mary Ann for her love of family, and for the beach where she most appreciated beauty in nature.
No memorial service will take place until her family and friends can gather in her memory on Summer Solstice this year. "Love you to the moon and back", Mary Ann
