Avera, Theresa Lee  
Theresa Lee Avera September 17, 1950 - May 13, 2016 Theresa, a resident of Westminster, CA passed away peacefully at her home with family present. She was born in Hawthorne, CA to Benjamin Whittington Avera and Beryl Ena Maasen Avera. From her early years she was concerned about those in need and lived her life in a spirit of service to others with a sense of purpose and commitment. Theresa grew up in Long Beach, CA. She graduated from St. Joseph Elementary School, St. Anthony Girl's High School in 1968 where she spent many of her happiest days, and CSULB. Later she earned a MA in Marriage and Family Counseling. In 1978 she married Thomas Schreiber and together they raised two daughters. Her career included from Campfire Counselor and Youth Minister to Hospice Chaplain, always providing care and guidance. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Beryl Avera. She is survived by her children, Michelle and Kristen Schreiber; and by her brothers, John Avera (Mary Ann) and Sean Avera (Cathy); and by numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life is scheduled May 27, 10:00a.m. at La Purisima Church, 11712 Hewes St., Orange. Axthelm, Dolly Elizabeth  
Dolly Elizabeth Axthelm Dolly Elizabeth Axthelm, age 94, passed away on April 14, 2016. Dolly was born January 3, 1922 to Ludwell and Lulu Piper in Ennis, Montana. She married Ernest Axthelm on February 1, 1946 in California. They raised two daughters in Long Beach, CA. Her husband, Ernie, passed away May 27, 2009. Dolly is survived by daughters Elizabeth Guenther and Janice Axthelm, granddaughter Lindsey Gent and two great grandaughters Makenzie and Emilia Gent. A celebration of life will be held in June.
