Margaret Champion

MARGARET T. CHAMPION

Born Margaret Corrine Thompson on April 17, 1924 in Conrad, Montana. Margaret A.K.A. Peg, Peggy, Herms, Mom, Grandma, Granny Peg, Wrap'n Granny, moved to Santa Monica, CA with her friend Bea Johnson at the age of 18 and became a "So-Cal girl." Soon after she met and married William "Bill" Champion. Bill preceded her death on April 3, 1983.

She is survived by her "monkeydoodles", Dave and Scott; grandchildren, Whitney, Nicholas, Jeni, Lauren and Michael; cousin, Laila; and hometown friend, Onno. She is also survived by members of the "Gas Co. Girls," in particular Barb Koogler, her lifelong friends who gathered yearly for over 60 years.

Peg passed on October 31, 2012, at age 88, peacefully in her son's home with family alongside. Sadness does not shroud her survivors due to the satisfaction of knowing she had a long life full of many adventures and is beloved by all who knew her. No services are planned until an in home memorial T.B.A.
