Phyllis W. (Sylvester) Mitchell

Phyllis W. (Sylvester) Mitchell
May 25, 1916 – November 2, 2013

97, of Rialto, passed away quietly and peacefully with her family and friends at her side. She was raised in Starbuck, MN and graduated with an RN degree from Ashbury Hospital, Minneapolis, MN in 1940. On June 21, 1941, Phyllis married the love of her life, Henry "Mitch" Mitchell. They moved to San Bernardino in 1946 and started the first of three very successful office machine sales businesses – H. A. Mitchell Checkwriter Co., H & K Distributors and TEK Time Systems, Inc.
Phyllis and Mitch, in their spare time, built their custom home in the nice little town of Rialto in 1953. There, they raised three children: Hank Mitchell, of Verdemont, Monica Kelley, of Apple Valley and Kevin Mitchell, of Verdemont. Phyllis leaves her 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grand- children and 7 great-great grandchildren, to be with Mitch, who preceded her in death in 1976. Upon Mitch's passing, Phyllis, along with her son Kevin, took over the family business. Today, Kevin is President of TEK Time Systems, Inc.
Upon moving to Rialto, Phyllis became a life-long member of Grace Lutheran Church in Rialto. She treasured her friends and family. Mom loved the church and it shows by all the love and care the church members have shown over the years and now. Her wish was that her family always be together and share the love of everyone.
Phyllis's wish to be cremated by the Neptune Society has been fulfilled. A memorial service will be held on November 16, at 10am, at Grace Lutheran Church, 539 N. Acacia Avenue, Rialto, CA 92376.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Phyllis Mitchell Memorial Fund at Grace Lutheran Church.
