Regina "Jean" Horvath Mom, Nana, Teacher, Friend and Hostess with the Mostest Regina "Jean" Horvath died on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 due to a massive cardiac episode brought on by other critical medical problems she was having. By day Mrs. Horvath was an inspirational and motivational educator. She taught at Lincoln School in the Paramount Unified School District for 40 years. She often said that the most wonderful compliment about her t eaching was when formers students came back and said, "Thank You, Mrs. Horvath". By night, for those same 40 years, she worked as a reservation agent for TWA (Trans World Airlines). She loved to travel and enjoyed that benefit to the fullest and made many friends all over the world. She usually travelled with her daughter, Lisa. She was the consummate educator and considered the world to be her classroom and her travels wonderfully exciting and fulfilling field trips with her daughter as her star pupil. All who knew her will remember her for being the hostess with the mostest. She loved to entertain and always made sure her guests enjoyed themselves and "mangia bene" (ate well). Everyone knew that you did not eat before going to Jean's house because everyone had to eat and enjoy. Her closest and dearest friends will miss her warmth, laughter, and inner beauty. Despite the time she spent working, to her there was nothing more important than family. The youngest daughter of Italian immigrants, she was born in P hiladelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated at 19 from Pennsylvania State University and earned her Masters in Education from Cal State Los Angeles. Her parents, Louis and Madeleine Vassalotti, lived with Regina and her family from 1970 until they passed away in the mid 1990's. Regina took care of her parents to ensure that, as they aged, they lived in comfort, security, dignity, and happiness. Regina's proudest moments revolved around her daughter, Lisa Michele, including her birth, her graduation with her BA and MA from Boston University, and her daughter's marriage to Richard Alse Puckett III and the birth of their two children. Her greatest joys were her two grandsons, Richard Alse Puckett IV born 3 February 2008 and George Louis Puckett born 22 June 2009. Regina is survived by her daughter, Lisa Michele Puckett of Orange, California and her two grandsons, Richie and George; as well as by three of her sisters, Marie Marrongelli of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania and Margaret VC Gottlieb of Corona, California and Elea nor Vassalotti of Castelpagano, Italy.
