ALBERTA BELT DYE
Born July 5, 1943 in Quincy, Massachusetts, Alberta passed away on June 30, 2013 after a short battle with cancer at her home in Woodland Hills, CA. Her constant canine companion Montana was at her side.
Alberta moved to Los Angeles in the 1960's with first husband Sheldon Freed of Boston, MA, and worked in banking and accounting - most recently for ValleyCrest Landscaping prior to her retirement in 2010. After retirement she volunteered in the community at the West Valley Food Bank and the Los Angeles Public Library Adult Literacy Program.
In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, needlework and reading.
She is predeceased by husband, David H. Dye with whom she spent many happy years. They enjoyed working on home projects together and travelling throughout the United States.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Dye of San Diego, CA, Linda Dye of Paradise, CA, and Nancy Dye of Pismo Beach, CA; sister, Lila Rosenthal of Pennington, NJ; niece, Sandra Laumann of Scarsdale, NY; nephew, David Rosenthal of Santa Monica, CA; sister, Anita Belt of Cottage Grove, OR; and nephews, Eitan Priluck of Portland, ME and Jonathan Priluck of Cottage Grove, OR.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held. Charitable donations may be made to Greenwood House, 53 Walter St., Ewing Township, NJ 08628, to honor those who cared for Evelyn Belt.
