Carmen Navarro was born on July 12,1915 in Aguascalientes, Mexico and passed away on July 18, 2013 in Alta Loma, CA. Carmen was one of 15 children born to Jesus and Refugio Navarro. She attended Roosevelt High School and Frank Wiggins Trade School for Cosmetology. Carmen worked as a hair stylist in the Los Angeles area at the Knickerbocker Hotel, J.W. Robinson and the Statler Hilton. After retiring as a stylist, she went to work at the Old Plaza Church in Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Mission as an administrative assistant. Carmen is survived by her sister Armandina Centurioni and her brother Albert Navarro. She was "Nina" to many nieces and nephews. Carmen was a devout Catholic. She was a care giver to her parents and siblings and she gave to many Catholic charitable organizations.
A Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 7:00 PM and a Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM both at Saint Peter and Saint Paul Parish, 9135 Banyan St., Alta Loma, CA. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Los Angeles.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Memory of Carmen Navarro to Mary's Mercy Center, P.O. Box 7563, San Bernardino, CA 92411 for the Christmas Bike Drive.
