Duane Lee Koehler
Devoted husband and father, Duane Lee Koehler passed away on November 21, 2013 at his home in Grand Junction, Colorado after a courageous battle with Creutzfeld-Jakob disease. He was 69. Duane was born in Pueblo, Colorado on November 9, 1944, the son of Leo and Virginia Koehler. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Marilyn Koehler, and their three children, Dawn (Ron Keele) of Grand Junction, Duane Leo (Anna) of Spokane, WA, Derek (Nikki) of Grand Junction, and 7 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Yeager (Kurt) of Newport Beach, CA. Duane grew up in the Redlands area of California, graduated from Pacific High School in 1962 and attended San Bernardino Valley College. Duane ran his own construction business as a general contractor for most of his life. He moved his family to Dillon, Montana in 1994, and then to Grand Junction in 2002, where he enjoyed semi-retirement.
Duane was a dedicated member of the Elks, serving in leadership positions in Redlands and Grand Junction. A memorial service was held in Grand Junction on November 25.
