George E. Caviness
90, died at his home in Upland on 3/4/14. He was born 11/20/23 in Minneapolis, MN and lived in Upland for 30 years.
He served as a Fighter Pilot with the Flying Tigers 14th Army Air Corps in WWII, reaching the rank of Major. After the war he joined the Reserves training future pilots.
He then worked as a Sales Rep. for Tennet Co for 30 years and was transferred to Upland in 1984, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Upland Hills CC Men's Golf Assoc. His hobby and passion was golf and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Phyllis (Fish) Caviness; daughters, Gay Ann Caviness and Betsy (Steve) Hanack; step-daughters, Tammy Royal and Kathy (Corey) Baker; son, George Edward Caviness; step-son, Rodge (Irene) Fradella; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice of So CA or Wounded Warrior's Project.
Services will be held on Wed., March 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Stone Funeral Home, Upland.
