George Frederick McIntyre, Jr.
(81) former long-time resident of Redlands, CA died on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in Riverside, CA. Services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Crossroads Christian Church in the chapel off the main sanctuary. George was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1931 and lived for 30 years in the small town of Maumee. It was in Ohio where he met and married his wife Judy and worked as a deputy sheriff in Lucas County. In 1961, George, along with his expecting wife Judy and their three year old daughter, Georgann, ventured west to live in Southern California. Initially, he started working for State Farm Insurance while moonlighting at Disneyland as a conductor on the trains. He ultimately succeeded to full-time employ in Disney's Marketing Department and after 21 years, retired as Marketing Director of the Magic Kingdom Club in 1986. After 19 wonderful years living in Orange County, and 26 years in Redlands, George and Judy moved to Corona, CA to be closer to their three children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren a little over a year ago. George enjoyed riding his bike, including his daily commutes to Disneyland. Among his many hobbies, George was an avid writer; he loved old time radio programs and performed spots for a local radio station introducing his favorite radio programs such as Captain Midnight, The Shadow, and his most beloved favorite Sherlock Holmes. George is survived by his wife Judy of 56 Years, his son Tim and daughters Georgann and Bridgett, grandchildren Elizabeth, Tim, Brianne, Katie, Meagan, Hannah, Emily and Riley, and his three great-grandchildren Johah, Levi and Eve. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
