FOUNTAIN, Helen Carter
Helen Carter Fountain, 87, passed away Sunday, January 19 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Helen was born in Evanston, Illinois, but moved to Claremont, California as a young girl. She attended Chaffey High School, Occidental College, The Julliard School of Music, and The Claremont Colleges. Helen taught briefly in West Covina, but spent the majority of her career teaching vocal music at First Avenue Jr. High in Arcadia. She was a beloved and generous wife, mother, teacher, and friend. Her beautiful singing voice was appreciated by many in our community. Helen is survived by her daughters Ruth and Lou, and her grandchildren Eric, Gary, Emily, and Ashley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, and her son, Phil. Her ashes will join those of her husband when they are scattered at The Crazy Horse Monument in South Dakota.
