Jerome "Jerry" Littlefield Obituary
Jerome "Jerry" Littlefield

Jerry Littlefield, 67, of Belmont Shore, California, passed away with grace, dignity and his fighting spirit intact on Sunday, June 1, 2014.

Jerry enjoyed life to the absolute fullest. He was always the life of the party making sure to be the first to arrive and the last to leave. One of the most unforgettable people you could ever meet and certainly one of a kind, Jerry shared happiness all around. He was a generous man in so many ways and touched everyone who entered his world. He was a positive influence in the lives of many and will be missed more than words can express.

Jerry joined the LA County Fire Department in April of 1971. In August of 1974 he became one of the first paramedics to graduate in LA County. He saved countless lives during his career, many of whom still kept in touch with him. He went on to become a firefighter specialist (FFS) and worked as a camp foreman at camp 15 for over twenty years. Jerry led the fight against many fires in the Angeles Crest and Little and Big Tujunga. People have said they felt more secure knowing Jerry was in charge battling the flames. He retired from the Fire Department after thirty years of service in 2001.

Jerry was predeceased by his wonderful parents Wilbur and Vera Littlefield.

He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie; his children, Kim and Bryan; his grandchildren, Aidan and Alana Johnson; his sisters, Lynn and Marcia; his brother, Kevin; his beloved Aunt, "Mouse"; his many nieces, nephews, cousins, countless friends and his brother firefighters.

His Celebration of Life will be on July 19, 2014.

We can only hope to live our lives with the same spirit with which Jerry lived his. As he would say, "The sun waits for no one."
