TAYLOR, June Widener

June Widener Taylor, 93, of Pasadena, died October 5, 2013.

She was born June 21, 1920 in Alhambra, California, the third of nine children born to Elda and Harry Widener.

June grew up in Monrovia. She served in the Navy in World War II, stationed in San Diego. She married Bill W. Taylor of Newtown, Ohio in April 1946 and they remained together for 67 years. During their married life they lived in Ohio, New York, Pittsburgh, California, and Oregon and then returned to Pasadena where they have resided for the last 37 years.

June attended Marietta College in Ohio and Syracuse University in New York. She was a very dedicated homemaker. June was a skilled seamstress and had an avid interest in the culinary arts. Her cookies and desserts were works of art! She enjoyed poetry and writing.

June is survived by her husband, Bill W. Taylor, and her son Grant N. Taylor of Portland, Oregon. She has three surviving siblings:Lois Williams of Washington, and W.H."Dek" Widener and Darrow"CD" Widener, both lifetime residents of California. In addition, June is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held October 16th at Forest Lawn/Hollywood Hills. A service will be held immediately
following the viewing.
