MERCURIO, Marjorie Ann (Vandervort)

Marjorie Ann Mercurio (Vandervort) was born in Chicago, IL to Ralph and Margaret April 9, 1918, departed Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. Marge moved with her parents and brother, Bud, to the west coast in 1920 and grew up in the beautiful Hollywood Hills. She graduated from Hollywood High and attended Redlands University where she met and fell in love with her husband Blas Mercurio. While Blas fought in WWII, Marge cared for their first child Ron (Gib) with the help of loving family. After Blas returned, they moved the family to the San Gabriel Valley and were blessed with two more sons, Vince and Marty. Marge spent the next 44 years in Glendora where she was active in her church, Grace Episcopal, while raising her family. She lost her youngest son Marty in 1975 and her husband Blas in 2001. Marge spent her remaining years at Bretheran Hillcrest Homes in La Verne, CA. Marge is survived by Gib (LucyAnn), Vince (Liane), four grandchildren, Parri, Beau, Chris and Marci, as well as four great-grandchildren, Matt, Luke, Jake and Aliya.
