Michael was born in Coatbridge, Scotland, as the eldest son of Mary Veronica Grace and John Joseph McParlane. Michael immigrated to the US and lived in Detroit, MI where he attended St Leo's High School. During WWII he served in the Army Air Corp stationed in Europe. Upon returning from the service he married Joan Lorraine Schick in 1946. Together they raised nine children. Michael was employed by the J.L. Hudson Company for 44 years. After retiring, he and Joan moved to North Hollywood and became parishioners at St. Charles Borromeo Church. There Michael ushered and for over 25 years volunteered with Joan at the St. Charles Service Center, serving those in need.

Michael is predeceased by his wife Joan and brothers Bernard, John and Patrick. He is survived by his 6 sons, 3 daughters, 15 grandchildren, 2 sisters and a large loving extended family.

A funeral service will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 10800 Moorpark St., N. Hollywood, 91602 (818-766-3838) on Saturday June 29 at 12:00PM
. Reception following in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Charles Service Center are welcome.
