Mildred Briggs Obituary

Known as "Millie" to her friends and "Maga" to her grandchildren, passed away peacefully in her sleep May 25th in Tarzana, California. She was 95. Her trusted dog, Peanuts, was at her side.

Millie was born March 13, 1917 in Fargo, North Dakota and came to California as a young girl. She often told stories of baking bread and killing chickens for dinner at her grandmother's house, picking fruit in the orchards after the farmers had harvested their crop, driving her friends to the beach on dirt roads in her Model A, listening to broadcasts on the radio, and she also boasted about having once been the getaway driver in a heist. She was a very active and talented gal, a gifted artist, an avid golfer, loved to swim in the ocean, spend time with family, travel, play the "penny slots", watch sports, visit all the critters in the zoo, eat "breaky" every morning with her pals at local restaurants, take her dog to the doggy park, dicker with merchants at local second hand stores, and most of all, sort her stamps.

She was all smiles all of the time and she will be sorely missed. Millie is survived by her three daughters, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A private service will be held off the coast of So. Calif. where her remains will be scattered into the ocean that she so dearly loved.
