Nancy Kennedy Obituary

Passed away peacefully on September 25, 2013. She had been a resident of Villa Scalabrini in Sun Valley for the past three years. Nancy's work career in California began in 1970 as a live-in baby sitter. She loved children and enjoyed the work.

Later she was employed by various answering services in the valley and for many years worked for Davis Research, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed her bowling leagues, serving as secretary, and excelled in the sport winning many awards and trophies. Her other interests included playing the piano, reading, word puzzles, card playing (especially Euchre), and giving a loving tickle to one and all. She had many friends wherever she lived and was well liked by co-workers and all she met in her life.

Our Nancy with the smiling face was born February 18, 1938 in Fairmont, West Virginia, the youngest of eight children of Mary R. and William M. Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Anne Devlin and Martha Hebblethwaite. She is survived by her brother, Richard Kennedy; and sisters, Clare Algier, Maureen Wolfe, Margaret Mauney and Barbara Rojas; brother-in-law, Fernando Rojas; and 22 nieces and nephews, two of whom, James Wolfe and Michael Rojas, are her Godsons.

A Memorial Mass will be offered Sunday, October 20, 2013, 11:30 a.m., in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 18115 Sherman Way, Reseda, CA. Final Interment will be in Fairmont, WV at a later time.
