October 2, 1927 - February 6, 2014

Bill and wife, Thelma left their home in Connecticut and came to California in 1959, with their four children. As one of the first employees for Hughes Research Laboratories in Malibu, where he worked for 30 years, he was on the roof defending the lab during the 1970 wildfires.

In his retirement, Bill spent his time with his main loves: family and friends, music and working in the garage. He loved helping neighbors, loaning tools, repairing anything. He played guitar and organ, and enjoyed picking out a tune on any other instrument he came across. Bill was an avid reader and loved watching golf, bowling and tennis. His generosity, humor, and enjoyment of life will be greatly missed.

Bill is survived by his wife, Thelma; sons, Michael, David and Douglas Wochna; daughter, Merry Gunn; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three more on the way.
