Gilberto R. Vasquez

Gilberto R. Vasquez, born March 25, 1967, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014. He was known to his family and friends as Uncle Gil, Tio Beto and Gil. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and stepfather. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him knew he was a "tough guy" on the outside but a man with a big heart on the inside. Put any niece or nephew in front of him and they had him wrapped around his finger. He always opened his home to his friends who became family and anyone who needed a helping hand. Gil was one of a kind. He was a father figure to many and protector to all. We will cherish all the memories we had with our Uncle Gil, but we have not lost him completely, we have only gained a new guardian angel. We love you very much and hope you are now at peace, with a smile on your face alongside your mother Martha and big brother Miguel. Services will be held Thursday, February 27 at McNerney's Mortuary, 570 W. 5th St., San Pedro 90731 at 7pm and funeral Friday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
