Maria T.(Baba) Hinojosa Franco

1950-2013
Peacefully departed this world to be with the Lord on the 5th day of spring, March 25. Devoted Wife of Manuel Franco; beloved Mother of her three children -daughters Teresa, Irma and son Manny (Carmen); doting Grandmother of her precious grandson Aadin and granddaughter Raelene; Beloved and ever thoughtful Daughter of Ophelia G. Hinojosa and the late James C. Hinojosa; dearly loved and valued Sister of Jerry (Ofelia), Patricia, Edward (Nancy), Olga, Margaret (Marco), Rene, Jaime (Ruth), David (Mary); many beloved Nieces and Nephews to whom she left indelible and happy memories; and, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Baba was a talented and skillful businesswoman-a true "foodie" who served as the cornerstone of her family business for over 35 years on the west side of town-Jimmie's Carnitas Bar BQ and Catering. Baba took great joy in preparing incredibly delicious Mexican delicacies to a constant flow of regular customers from throughout southern CA. She inspired her family to have fun
while working diligently and always giving her best. Baba very capably executed her immensely diverse business responsibilities from the time she was a young girl. Her joyful smile, hearty laughter and spicy/complex dishes inspired the joy of family and food where ever she was. Baba had a way of affirming those she loved with words of encouragement and a clever wit. Baba was steadfast in her commitment to her family -her true pride and joy. Baba bravely fought the good fight against cancer for several years. Baba is now living in her heavenly mansion-now healed for eternity.
Memorial Services to be held at 10 am on Saturday, March 30th at Montecito Memorial Park (Montecito Valley View Chapel )3520 E. Washington Street in Colton, CA. Our Family wishes to acknowledge and thank City of Hope for their tender care of our beloved Baba.
