Remington, Esther Miller
Esther Miller Remington, age 90,
entered her heavenly home on April 2, 2013. Esther was born July 30, 1922 in Pasadena, daughter of the late Basil and Esther (Kirk) Miller of Pasadena. She graduated from Pasadena College (now Point Loma Nazarene College) in 1942 with a B.A. in Music and Education and taught music and elementary school classes from 1942 to 1961. Esther served as Foreign Secretary of World-Wide Missions (1957-82) based in Pasadena, and as its Executive Director (1978-82) helping national missionaries and pastors in forty-five countries.
In 1982 Esther married Robert Remington in Costa Rica and served with him as a counselor and spiritual guide at the Spanish Language Institute in San José. They retired in 1993 to live in Pasadena at Monte Vista Grove Homes and renew their membership at First Church of the Nazarene of Pasadena.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arthur Remington, and daughter, Sue Ann Howard, Esther is survived by daughter Gail Ann Howard of Monrovia, CA. A Celebration Service will be held at 2:30pm April 9th at Monte Vista Grove Homes. In lieu of flowers, donations in Esther's honor can be made to Monte Vista Grove Homes, 2889 San Pasqual St., Pasadena 91107.
