Kevin SWEETEN Obituary

Kevin Sweeten transitioned to a new beginning on April 14th, 2013 at his home in Altadena, California. He was born on November 24th, 1958 in Glendale, California to Mike and Edie Sweeten of Hemet California and grew up in La Crescenta, California, La Cañada, California and Honolulu, Hawaii! Kevin graduated from The Army Navy Academy in Carlsbad California. He also studied at La Cañada High School. His passion for photography led to starting his own business, Kevin Michael Studio, and for over 30 years he was well known for his "Rembrandt" and "Free-Style" art of portraiture. He was also the photographer for San Marino High School for more than 25 years; he taught at SMHS for many years as well and was also the President of Temple City Rotary. He more recently became licensed in real estate and joined The Fairbanks Group, affiliated with Coldwell Banker in Pasadena selling residential real estate as well as investment property.

He enjoyed his beautiful home, Hawaii, skiing, tennis, traveling around the world, cars, planes and bullet trains, photography, technology and his beloved cats, Princeton and Kahuna!

Kevin's philanthropic passions included All Saints Church of which he was a member since 1988, environmental preservation, supporting San Marino High School, the American Red Cross and most recently the City of Hope and cancer research. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his devoted partner of twenty three years, John Fairbanks of Altadena CA, his devoted friend Ray Hayes of Altadena CA, his sister, Kelli Arbey and her husband Olivier of Bellevue, WA, , his aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends. Kevin, along with his piercing blue eyes, kind heart and soft spoken demeanor will be greatly missed by all whose lives' where touched by his special kindness!

Kevin's Soul is now with His Lord in Heaven and his Body is resting peacefully at the Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, California.
