Sealock, Minnie - Las Cruces  
Minnie L. Sealock, 87, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice. She was born April 25, 1927, in El Paso, Texas, to Salvador and Lydia Zamora Lucero. Minnie worked as a cook at Dick's Cafe for many years. Survivors include five sisters, Maria Mata of Phoenix, Angie Wilson and husband, Eddie, Lupe Ortega, Emilia Lopez and Anita Jaquez, all of Las Cruces; three brothers, Louie Alatorre and wife, Celia, of Albuquerque, Juan Alatorre of Phoenix, and David Alatorre of Las Cruces; as well as a many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister. Calling hours for Minnie will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, in Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E. Boutz Road, with the funeral service scheduled for 10 a.m., with the Rev. Gabriel Solis officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho, where she will be laid to rest. Shoemaker, Maria  
Maria Shoemaker, 77, lifelong resident of Las Cruces, entered eternal life Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at MountainView Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 17, 1938, to Benjamin and Petra Flores Chavez. Maria was a homemaker and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Those left to mourn her passing include a son, Thomas Shoemaker Jr. and wife, Sherry, of Las Cruces; two daughters, Dorothy Morales, of Las Cruces, and Mucia Starr and husband, Thomas, of Danville, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Henry Salas and wife, Cecilia, and Rosalio Martinez, all of Las Cruces; three sisters, her twin, Mucia Erlston of Danville, Liz Golden of Las Cruces, and Tila Herrera of Paris, Kentucky. Other survivors include her son-in-law, Elvis Fausnaught Sr.; 13 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a longtime family friend, Neal. Maria was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Shoemaker Sr., in Oct. 15, 1997; a daughter, Mary T. Fausnaught, in July 9, 2014; and a sister, Nellie Maese. Visitation for Mrs. Shoemaker will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, in Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the evening service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date. Smithwick, Greg  
Greg Yancy Smithwick, 43, of Silver City, New Mexico, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 905 N. Gold St., Silver City, on Feb. 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Greg left behind his mother, Sharon Ambrose, of Silver City; one son, Tanner Smithwick of Wichita,Kansas; his paternal grandmother Leota Hadley of El Reno, Oklahoma; and his companion of four years, Lourdes Garcia.
